My name is Dan Morris and I’m a music producer/artist from the Southwest UK.
I write my own songs as well as collaborate with others. I’m not genre specific as I love all music so I write a track to fit the mood I’m in or the vision in my mind but
my main styles are Rock, Acoustic, Dance and Ambient.
I’ve been creating music since the tender age of 10, at the time using a basic keyboard hooked up to a computer. Even back then I had a deep love of sound and how it affects your emotions and vice versa.
Electronic music really captured my imagination and Rock music gave me the energy to evolve my own creations.
As I grew older my skills improved, and while self taught I became comfortable playing keyboard, drums and guitar. I now have a small but high quality home studio based around a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). This means I became a one-man production powerhouse and have recorded and produced a few local artists and the odd local band.
I’ve also scored, mixed and produced a number of student films, one of which earned me a nomination for Best Soundtrack at the FFresh film festival in Wales.
It’s while working on those projects I noticed how free and exciting it was to create music to visual. Having been a movie fan for most of my life it was natural for me to link the two together.
I was then approached by Lucinda to add music to her artwork, which for me is ideal as I always start a new track with a vision in mind, so the visualization to sound ethos works well for me.
The concept of artwork being inspired by music which in turn inspires the creation of new music is something I feel makes this creative passion that we humans share available to all regardless of class, country or religion.
