THE BLESSING MOON

 

There’s a blessing moon tonight

that will find its way into your window

find its way into your heart

cutting through all the shadows

your forever begins today

everything that has come before

that was never going to be enough

there’s a blessing moon tonight

that creeps into your heart

and blesses you with love

 

there’s a wishing star tonight

that will fall beside your prayers

granting you the peace that you have longed for

the peace you always knew was there

cutting through all the darkness

your forever begins today

all the wishes that came before

tonight there’s a wishing star that falls your way

all the wishes never granted

the peace was always there

these wishes that fill your heart

and answer your prayers

 

there’s a dream upon the wind tonight

that will come to rest upon your weary head

cutting through all the broken promises

all the things that were left unsaid

for your forever begins today

the wind will fill your dreams with happiness

all the bad dreams that came before

now your heart can truly rest

there’s a blessing moon tonight

that will creep into your heart

dreams that find tomorrow’s heartaches

before they start

a wishing star that falls

as if yesterday was never there

there’s a blessing moon tonight

that will answer all your prayers
